Pictures from TVSD’s Staff Opening Day as our instructional staff returned to start the 2026-27 school year. Board President Gary McEwen shared a welcome message and Pam Menet, Director of Community & Economic Development for Berks County provided information as we connect student learning to careers and college readiness. New hires were celebrated as well as employees recognized for reaching 25, 30, 35 and 40 service year milestones. The day provided an opportunity to reconnect with teammates and reflect on the impact we can have together this school year. We look forward to welcoming our students back next week!

This summer, youth can make an impact by volunteering. Volunteering helps young people build confidence, leadership, teamwork, and real-world skills while supporting causes that matter. Volunteering can also help teens explore interests, meet new people, and grow their resume before school, college, or other career opportunities.

Explore summer opportunities through United Way of Berks or Chester County, VOiCEup Berks, and Twin Valley School District’s Engagement webpage to turn free time into community impact.

#CreativeClassrooms: Twin Valley Elementary Center students have spent the week flourishing in curiosity, exploration, and learning rooted in the natural world.

Mrs. King’s class discovered the magic of plant propagation by rooting pothos cuttings in water and planting their very own houseplants to take home.

4th graders also enjoyed a hands on day at Berks Nature, rain and all, investigating macroinvertebrates, tracking clouds for NASA, and testing rock properties.

Our school nurses are everyday heroes—quietly ensuring that students stay healthy, supported, and able to focus on learning. Whether they’re coordinating screenings, helping manage chronic conditions, or providing specialized care, they’re an essential part of our school community. We’re deeply grateful for their dedication and heart. Happy Nurses Appreciation Week to the ones who keep us all going!

Students from the Business Management & Entrepreneurship program at Berks Career & Technology Center recently had the incredible opportunity to attend Reading Area Community College’s innovation celebration featuring Robert Herjavec of Shark Tank.

During the event, students participated in a live entrepreneurial pitch experience, presenting ideas and engaging with business professionals in a real-world setting.

We are especially proud of Twin Valley juniors Garrett Vernay and Kaylee Thompson for representing their program with professionalism, creativity, and confidence!

Thank you to our partners at Berks Career & Technology Center (BCTC) and Chester County Technical College High School (TCHS) for continuing to provide valuable opportunities that inspire and prepare students for future success.

As Artemis II wrapped up this past weekend, sending astronauts Victor Glover, Christina Koch, Jeremy Hansen, and Reid Wiseman on a historic journey around the Moon, space exploration is once again in the spotlight.

Here in Twin Valley, that excitement hit close to home.

TVMS 5th- and 6th-grade students recently connected with Captain Sunita Williams, is a U.S. Navy captain, helicopter pilot, and record-setting NASA astronaut who has spent 608 days in space and completed 9 spacewalks. She shared what life is really like aboard the International Space Station and how her work helps prepare for future Moon and Mars missions—just like Artemis II.

This incredible opportunity grew from a student connection and turned into a live virtual visit, inspiring curiosity, questions, and big dreams about space.

From our classrooms to the cosmos, the future is bright! Thank you, Captain Williams, for continuing to support our students at TVSD by sharing your knowledge and experiences.
