The local school board is a critical public link to public schools. The school board sets the vision and goals for the district, adopts policies that gives the district direction to set its priorities and achieve its goals, hires and evaluates the Superintendent, adopts and oversees the annual budget, and manages the collective bargaining process for employees of the district. The public is welcome to attend school board meetings and workshops. The public may address agenda items when recognized by the chairperson during the public section of the meeting.
