Update regarding COVID-19 mitigation

Dear Twin Valley School District Community,

As an Administrative Team, we wanted to reach out and provide you with an update regarding the latest information from the Governor’s Office and from the Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH) regarding the current COVID mitigation orders. On May 4th, the Wolf Administration, in coordination with the COVID-19 Vaccine Joint Task Force, announced that the Secretary of Health’s and Governor’s Orders on Targeted Mitigation, as well as the public school attestation, will be lifted on May 31, 2021. Additional information regarding the details of this announcement, as well as the overall press release, can be found at  https://www.media.pa.gov/pages/health-details.aspx?newsid=1437. However, please be aware that the current order requiring Pennsylvanians to wear masks will remain in effect until the state’s benchmark of 70% of all residents age 18 and older being fully vaccinated is reached.

The District views the health and safety of our students, families, and staff as a top priority. As such, our building administrators will continue many of our internal mitigation efforts through the end of this school year including, but not limited, to the following: signage, one direction travel, staggered lunch rooms, social distancing, cleaning, sanitization efforts, and continued bus capacity levels.  Additionally, at the May 17th Board Meeting, the District will be recommending that we rescind both our District Health & Safety Plan and our Athletics Health & Safety Plan effective June 1, 2021.

In closing, as further information becomes available, we will ensure its appropriate dissemination, including our plans for 2021-2022, which will be finalized and shared over the summer months. Thanks for your ongoing support and dedication to the District, and know that we appreciate your flexibility over the course of this past year.
