Twin Valley Transportation
The Board of Directors of the Twin Valley School District encourages education and provides transportation to and from school at district expense, to all full-time students legally residing within its boundaries and attending state mandated school programs. This shall be performed in accordance with guidelines contained in the Public School Code, The Vehicle Code of Pennsylvania, and as directed by the Board.
Cooperation between students, parents, drivers, contractors, administration, and the board is necessary to establish and maintain a safe and quality oriented service. The administration shall determine stop locations and routes with the aid of transportation contractors. Bus routes shall not include private or undedicated streets/road.
The administration endeavors to minimize walking distance and riding times where practical and economical. Consideration shall be given to safety, efficiency, and economy when routes are established.
Policing bus stops and the supervision between residence and stops until the children board the bus, will be the parent's responsibility.
Parents and/or guardians are responsible for the child and their safety prior to boarding the bus in the morning and at the time the child is discharged from the bus in the afternoon.
Acceptable behavior on the bus is expected from all pupils or transportation privileges may be revoked. If this should occur, it then becomes the responsibility of the parents and/or guardians to transport the child to and from school until such time that transportation privileges are returned.
Transportation in inclement weather can lead to serious complications. Parents are responsible for obtaining the latest information on school closings, etc. as directed by the school.
Transportation problems or requested changes are not to be discussed with a bus driver. Resolution of transportation problems are made only through the District's Transportation Office.
