A well-balanced lunch is served daily in all buildings. Students in the middle school and high school may purchase a la carte items such as a salad bar or the luncheon platter. Free and reduced-rate lunch programs are available for low income families. Information about these programs may be obtained from the school nurse. Health ServicesUse SHIFT+ENTER to open the menu (new window).

Five health care specialists serve our five district schools. A dentist is employed on a part-time basis to conduct dental examinations periodically. A physician, also employed on a part-time basis, serves as an examining physician. Sports physicals are scheduled for all students participating in the athletic program. Health service personnel maintain health records by working cooperatively with parents, teachers, other school specialists, and the students themselves. Parents are urged to keep immunizations up to date and consult with the school nurse if a problem arises relating to their child's health.

Student InsuranceUse SHIFT+ENTER to open the menu (new window).
A low-cost student insurance program is offered to students at the beginning of each school year. Premiums for the program are paid by the parents. This program is recommended for those students planning to participate in extracurricular activities; however, it is not required. Information about student insurance is available through the building principals.
Homebound InstructionUse SHIFT+ENTER to open the menu (new window).
When a student has an extended illness, homebound instruction is available. A written verification of the medical condition, from the attending physician, is required before homebound instruction can be authorized.
Special EducationUse SHIFT+ENTER to open the menu (new window).
The Twin Valley School District believes all children should receive an education that enables them to achieve maximum potential. For the exceptional child, this often requires a special program. Our district works in cooperation with a variety of agencies to identify exceptional children and develop programs to meet their needs. If, as a parent, you have a question regarding your child's ability and/or need for special assistance, please contact the school principal.
